Dr. Harold F. Farber, MD - Public Works - Participation
In addition to maintaining his medical practices in Philadelphia and Narberth, Dr. Harold F. Farber also contributes to the community as a guest lecturer, consultant and member participant. Throughout the years he has been practicing dermatology, Harold Farber has attended dozens of panels and discussions focusing on treatment practices for skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, skin dermatoses, and skin cancer.
Harold Farber hosted a Medical Education Presentation in which he lectured on the "Treatment Options for Body Dermatoses" to health care professionals at Tequilas Restaurant in Philadelphia. The event was held on November 7, 2007 from approximately 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Topics discussed included treatment of body dermatoses which were corticosteroid responsive. Audience members included residents from Hahnamann University Dermatology Program and attending medical staff.
In July 2007, Harold Farber contributed to the Preceptorship Program with Jane Skulski on behalf of Doak Dermatologics. Harold Farber also participated this past summer as a speaker in the Stiefel Olux-E and Duac Speaker Training Web-ex in July and a dinner program in November hosted by PharmaDerm along with Christine McCloskey on the treatment of atopic dermatitis and fungal infections. Finally, Dr. Harold F. Farber received a Certificate of Participation from the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery in September on behalf of Olay Skincare in recognition of his valuable contribution to Olay's skin cancer awareness and support program called "Skin Cancer Skin Takes Friends."
Throughout his career, Harold Farber has been a principal investigator for a number of clinical research studies, including treatment evaluations for such conditions as psoriasis, rosacea, atopic dermatitis, acne vulgaris, severe ichthosis vulgaris, multiple actinic kerstoses, skin changes in post menopausal women, onychomycosis, and basal cell carcinoma.
Dr. Harold Farber has changed the lives and helped provide a brighter future for many dermatological or cosmetically concerned patients. For example, Harold Farber's practice is one of the only dermatology or psoriasis centers that offer Remicade (Centocor) for the treatment of psoriasis by IV infusion. Harold Farber's practice also offers treatment through some of the most state of the art lasers by Affirm laser (Cynosure, MA).
Harold Farber has also contributed to the medical community through training medical students. Dr. Harold F. Farber has trained medical students at Philadelphia college of Osteopathic Medicine and done a preceptorship for a first year college student at Penn State University. . Harold Farber has also trained resident students at Lankenau Hospital.
